Process
How It Works
Specimens are prepared with a proprietary preservation system and contrast agents that enhance the learning experience for medical professionals and scientists. This process extends the value of the anatomical gift by stabilizing and maintaining tissue integrity while decreasing potentially harmful chemical exposure.
GAX Specimens® are actual tissues that provide true lifelike handling experiences for anatomical, medical, surgical, imaging, and research training. They can be used within hours of preparation for bleeding, nonbleeding, and contrast based procedures.
01
Lifelike Simulation
GAX Specimens® provide realistic handling experiences and can support complex simulations, including bleeding scenarios using artificial or real blood products.
02
Multimodal Imaging
The system works with BriteVu® contrast agents for X ray, C arm, CT, MRI, ultrasound, light sheet microscopy, and histology.
03
Compatible Contrast Agents
Options include iodine compounds, gadolinium products, intraoperative agents, microscopy reagents, and common histology stains.
04
Extended Educational Value
Rapid preparation, tissue stability, and refrigeration based care allow institutions to gain more training and research value from each anatomical gift.
See our Images and Research tabs for more details.
StandardTraditional Preservation
Common methods can rely on chemicals that alter tissue appearance, feel, and handling while increasing exposure to volatile compounds.
GAX Specimens®Global AnatomiX Preservation
Soft, pliable, lifelike tissue supports enhanced visualization and realistic training without formaldehyde, phenol, ethanol, or salt solutions.
